Choose your Ford Fairlane police cruiser today! Front seatbelts are a highly recommended option.

I love how the picture makes the 289 look bigger than the 260 when the only real difference was the bore. :)

Looks like the 289 has more shiny bits, though.

This is relevant to my interests. I’d assume the ‘64 full-size Ford was still the best-selling cop car across the country like the ‘63 was, so that they were offering the mid-size in cop trim as well... it’s a little weird. I did not, strictly speaking, know that they’d done that.
It’s not a bad idea for local traffic cop use and pursuit on a budget, though - if the 289 Fairlane is as fast as a 390 Galaxie, why not? And it absolutely is - a 289 Falcon, properly tuned, can keep ahead of about any big-block Galaxie up to 427 in the rain around curves, and a Fairlane is only barely bigger.

At least you could have lapbelts and a pad
ded dash. When people ask me about the crash safety in my Bel Air, I have to admit that the best way to survive is not to crash

My mom lost her two front teeth in a collision in 1958. She has fake front teeth to this day.

Makes the perspective of getting hit in the face by an exploding balloo

Policeman! Policeman! Help me please. Someone went and stole my knees. I’d chase him down, but I suspect my feet and legs just won’t connect.

Preferably a balloon which has completed its process of exploding, which will catch you rather than strike you!
